"The Price of My Pig", also known as "Sheelina Gra Will You Be Mine" is an Irish<br> double jig in 6/8 time and A Minor. The parts are played AB (Darley & McCall) or<br> AABB (Cranitch).<br> The song was issued on 19th century broadside sheets without music but with twelve<br> verses about how a farmer sold his pig and was swindled out of the money.<br> The air is substantially that of "Sheelina Gra Will You Be Mine" that was printed in<br> O'Farrell's Pocket Companion, c. 1805.<br> The similarly-titled "The Price of the Pig" is a different tune.<br> It was printed in<br> Cranitch's Irish Fiddle Book (1996),<br> Cranitch's Irish Session Tunes: Red Book (2000),<br> Bancalari's Celtic Encyclopedia, Mandolin Edition (1999) and<br> Darley & McCall's The Feis Ceóil Collection of Irish Airs (1914).<br> It was recorded by Kim Robertson on Tender Shepherd (1992) and<br> Matt Cranitch on Take a Bow.<br>
